Limits
This step-by-step guide explains the current usage limits for the Document Analyst feature and how to work within them to ensure successful document analysis.
Current limits of the Document Analyst
Understanding the current limits of the Document Analyst feature helps you plan your uploads and avoid unexpected truncation or errors.
Use PDF format only
- Why PDF? PDFs preserve formatting, structure, and embedded text reliably across platforms. Ensure your document is a PDF.
- What happens with other formats? If you attempt to upload a Word document, image, or any non-PDF file, youβll receive an error message prompting you to convert your file to PDF before retrying. If you see an error, convert your file to PDF before uploading.
Keep file size under 5 MB
- Why 5 MB? Verify your PDF is 5 MB or smaller. This limit balances performance and usability, ensuring uploads remain fast and analysis stays responsive.
- What happens if I exceed 5 MB? If your file exceeds 5 MB, the upload will be rejected with a βFile too largeβ warning. You must compress or split your PDF to proceed.
Limit content to 3,000 words
- Why only one document? The agent analyzes only the first 3,000 words of your PDF. Limiting the words keeps processing efficient and the analysis focused.
- What happens if I upload multiple? Content beyond the 3,000th word is automatically truncated; only the first 3,000 words are analyzed.
Upload one document at a time
- Why only one document? Analyzing one document simplifies the reasoning workflow and reduces resource contention. If you upload a second PDF, it replaces the previous one.
- What happens if I upload multiple? Only the most recently uploaded document is retained and analyzed; earlier files are discarded. To analyze multiple documents, merge them into one PDF (under 5 MB) or upload them sequentially and reference excerpts manually.
Will these limits change?
