Control conversation duration

This step-by-step guide explains how to control the maximum duration of a conversation in your AI agent settings.

Conversation duration

Conversation duration helps you manage how long the agent remembers previous messages in a session.

How it works

  • Conversation Duration defines how long previous messages stay relevant in an ongoing session.
  • If set to 24 hours, the agent will ignore messages older than 24 hours when generating a response.
  • Users can continue the conversation, but older messages outside the time window won't be considered

This feature is available on the Premium plan or higher. If you're interested in enabling it, please contact our sales team.

  1. Select the agent, then click Personalize in the right-side menu.
  1. Go to the Conversation tab.
  1. Scroll down to the Conversation Duration section and set the desired duration.

Note:

The agent is still limited by its conversation history limit. Messages may be excluded if the total history exceeds the modelโ€™s capacity, even if they're within the time window.

  1. Click Save Settings to apply the changes.
