How Vimeo integration works
When you connect a Vimeo URL, CustomGPT finds the videos behind it, reads their transcripts and video details, and stores everything in your agent's knowledge base.
What gets stored
For each video, CustomGPT reads and stores the full transcript- the spoken content of each video- along with the title, description, and tags.
Videos without transcripts
If a video does not have a transcript available on Vimeo, only its details are saved (title, description, and tags). The agent can show that video in results but cannot answer questions about what was said in it.
How video discovery works
CustomGPT scans the URL you provide and automatically finds all videos behind it, across all pages. All videos in a supported Vimeo source- user profile, showcase, collection, and others- are found and added to your knowledge base. You do not need to list individual videos.
How incremental sync works
On every sync, CustomGPT checks your Vimeo source for changes. Only three categories of videos are updated:
- New videos added since the last sync
- Updated videos that have changed since the last sync
- Deleted videos that have been removed from Vimeo
Videos that have not changed are not re-added.
How timestamp citations work
When your agent answers a question, citations link to the exact moment in the video where the relevant content appears. Clicking a citation opens the Vimeo video at that timestamp.
Citations are only available for videos with transcripts. Videos saved without a transcript do not produce timestamp citations.
Auto-sync
To keep your agent's Vimeo content up to date automatically, refer to 👉 Enable Vimeo auto-sync. Available on Premium and Enterprise plans.
Data storage and compliance
CustomGPT stores transcripts and video details in your project. No audio or video files are downloaded or stored. The Vimeo integration is SOC 2 compliant.
