Understand agent’s status
This step-by-step guide explains what the agent status feature is, the different types of statuses your agent can have, where to find them, and why they matter.
What is agent status?
The Agent status shows if your AI agent is ready to use and how much of its knowledge base has been processed. It lets you quickly see whether the agent is fully trained, still syncing, or missing data.
By checking these statuses, you’ll always know whether your agent is ready to deliver high-quality responses or still preparing its knowledge base.
Why is agent status important?
Understanding Agent Status helps you:
- Know whether your agent is ready to answer questions.
- Detect if large uploads are still being processed.
- Troubleshoot situations where your agent isn’t responding as expected.
- Ensure your team relies only on agents with complete and updated knowledge bases.
Where to find agent status
You can find the status of any agent on the Agents page in your dashboard. The status helps you understand whether your agent is ready for use or if its data is still being processed.
Types of status
- Ready: The agent is fully prepared. All documents have been processed successfully, and the knowledge base is complete. You can chat with the agent confidently.

- Provisional: This status appears only for very large agents with more than 70,000 newly added documents. The agent will stay in Provisional status until all files are fully processed. You can still chat with the agent, but it may not have access to the entire knowledge base yet.

- Syncing (orange): Some documents are processed, but the rest are still being added. You can start chatting with the agent. Be aware that responses may be incomplete, since the knowledge base is not fully ready.

- Syncing (red): The system is still processing all uploaded documents. None are ready yet. You cannot chat with the agent at this stage. Wait until processing completes or shifts to the orange or Ready status.

- No data: The agent currently has no usable data. This can happen if:
- No data has been added to the agent.
- All uploaded documents failed to process.
