Website with images - Overview
This guide explains how to add a data source that processes images from your website using AI vision technology, enabling your agent to understand and reference visual content.
Overview
Website with Images is a data source type that allows your AI agent to discover and process images from your website during indexing. When enabled, images are analyzed using AI vision technology and stored as individual documents in your knowledge base, allowing your agent to provide responses that include visual context.
This feature uses the Google Image Sitemap Schema format to discover images from your XML sitemap. This format is particularly common for e-commerce sites, stock photo sites, and portfolio sites.
How it works
When you add a website with images source:
- CustomGPT crawls your website pages as usual
- Images are discovered from your sitemap using the Google Image Sitemap Schema format
- Each image is processed using AI vision technology
- Images are stored as individual documents with their full URLs
- Your agent can now understand and reference visual content
Key features
Sync from sitemap
Enable or disable image processing for your sitemap source. When enabled, images listed in your XML sitemap will be processed and added to your agent's knowledge base.
Auto-sync support
Images automatically sync when your website content updates. When a parent page is deleted from your sitemap, its images are automatically removed from your agent's knowledge base.
Update existing images
Control whether images should be reprocessed when they change:
- Enabled: AI vision processing runs again for updated images
- Disabled: Only new images are processed; existing images remain unchanged
Vision processing
Processing images uses your vision processing quota, and each image counts against your document limit. Vision processing limits vary based on your plan.
