How LinkedIn integration works

When you connect a LinkedIn URL, CustomGPT.ai finds the public posts behind it and adds them to your agent's knowledge base.

What gets added

Every public post on the profile or company page is added, one entry per post. Before a post reaches your agent, the cookie-consent banner, the post's comments, and the "More Relevant Posts" section underneath it are stripped out.

Reposts

A repost is added only if you wrote your own commentary on it. A plain repost is skipped.

How post discovery works

CustomGPT.ai reads the URL you provide and automatically finds every public post behind it, the same way for a personal profile and a company page.

How incremental sync works

On every sync, CustomGPT.ai checks your LinkedIn source for changes. Only two categories of posts are updated:

New posts added since the last sync
Deleted posts that have been removed from LinkedIn

If you edit an existing post on LinkedIn, that edit is not picked up on a scheduled sync. CustomGPT.ai keeps the version it originally read.

How citations work

When your agent answers using a LinkedIn post, the citation links back to that post so anyone can open the original.
