What is Library Map

Learn how Library Map gives each document a snapshot so your agent can find the right document.

Library Map adds an AI-generated snapshot to each document you add to your agent. Your agent uses the snapshots to find the right document, and you can see what each document is about without opening it.

How your agent finds content

Your agent answers by finding the passage in your documents that best matches a question. This works well when the answer is written in the document.

It can miss the right file when someone describes the document instead of quoting from it, for example "find the onboarding guide for enterprise customers" or "which document is the Q3 board deck".

What Library Map adds

Your agent also uses the snapshots to find the document itself, not just matching passages.

Which documents get a snapshot

With Library Map on, a snapshot is written for every document you add: uploaded files, website content, and connected sources such as Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox and Zendesk. Adding documents takes a little longer. Your agent's responses are not slowed down. Library Map is set per agent.

Where you control it

You turn Library Map on for an agent, and choose whether a snapshot is taken of every new document and whether a new snapshot is taken when auto-sync updates a document. Refer to Enable Library Map.

Where you see the snapshots

Each snapshot appears in the document's metadata, in its own field between Description and Tags. You can edit it. Your Description field is not changed. Documents that have a snapshot show an icon next to the document name. Refer to View or edit a document snapshot.

Use with Document Analyst

Document Analyst reads a knowledge base document in full when someone refers to it by name. With Library Map, your agent can find the right file even when the person describes it loosely. Document Analyst then reads it. Refer to Document Analyst - Overview.
